Rochester High Street has timed loading windows, narrow pavements and bollards that can make a 7.5-tonne lorry awkward. We use a 3.5-tonne Luton on most High Street jobs and book the loading slot in advance with the council where needed. On the Castle end, where parking is restricted year-round, we plan a shuttle from the nearest legal stop so nothing sits on a yellow line during the move.
Yes. A lot of Rochester sits on hills, and the approach into Borstal off the A228 in particular catches people out. We bring two-wheel and four-wheel trolleys with brakes, send extra crew on heavy items, and stage the load so we are not rolling a wardrobe down a steep pavement. If your driveway is on a sharp incline, we will plan a parking position that keeps the van level for loading.
The Dickens Festival in early summer and December and the Sweeps Festival on the May bank holiday close large parts of the High Street and reroute traffic for a full weekend. If your completion lands on one of those weekends, we can shift to the Friday before or the Monday after where the chain allows, or run an early-morning load before the road closures go in. Tell us at the quote stage and we will plan around it.
Junction 3 of the M2 at the Medway Bridge and the Medway Tunnel between Strood and Chatham are the two pinch points we plan around. We start early on most Rochester jobs to clear the worst of the morning peak, and we route round the bridge and tunnel during the school run. If your old or new address is in Strood or Chatham, we will avoid the tunnel approach in rush hour on the same stretch.
Yes. We are fully licensed for waste removal, and we handle full and part clearances, lofts, sheds, garages and end-of-tenancy clear-outs included. A lot of our Rochester clearance work is downsizing from larger village properties, Cuxton, Halling, Wouldham, Cliffe, into a smaller place in town, so we are used to deciding what comes with you, what goes to family, and what we take away.
